Rolex Watches History

The history of Rolex is connected with 24-year-old Hans Wilsdorf, who in 1905 founded a unique company in London specializing in the distribution of watches. His dream was to create a watch that you could wear on your wrist. At the time (the early 1900s), wristwatches were not very accurate, but Wilsdorf had a vision that these watches would not only provide luxury accessories, but also create a timepiece that could be worn on the wrist. users only it was also a reliable way to tell time. By 1919 the company had grown and expanded greatly. By moving to Geneva Switzerland in 1926, the first waterproof wristwatch was introduced by Rolex and named the “Oyster”. 1945 saw the first self-winding wristwatch chronometer to display the date in a window. On the dial, that's the Rolex Datejust. In the 1950s, Rolex began designing tool watches intended for professional activities such as scuba diving, flying, mountain climbing, and more. This led to the launch of the Explorer in 1953, Submariner in 1953, Milgauss in 1956, Deep-Sea Special in 1960, Cosmograph Daytona in 1963 and Sea-Dweller in 1967. The growth of this luxury watch brand continued as it is known today.
